(4/10/2013) - Southern Rep Theatre and the Forum For Equality announce the cast for its reading of '8' by Dustin Lance Black. The cast is as follows: Michael Arata, Natalie Boyd, Glenn Boyer, Kerry Cahill, Benjamin Carbo, Leon Contavesprie, Kyle Daigrepont, Dave Davis, Bob Edes, Andrew Farrier, Jim Fitzmorris, Jeffrey Gunshol, Jack Long, Taylor McLellan, Jennifer Pagan, Brian Peterson, Dorian Rush, Michael Aaron Santos, and Michael Sullivan.

Southern Rep to Host 'Babies' Themed 6X6: NEW PLAY SLAM, 4/24

(4/9/2013) - Southern Rep continues its 'New Plays New Orleans' mission with 6X6: NEW PLAY SLAM. This month's theme is 'Babies.' The 6X6 Play Slam is a group of local playwrights who write 10-minute plays with a new theme every month, which are presented six times a year by Southern Rep Theatre. 6X6: NEW PLAY SLAM will take place Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 7:30pm, at Mid-City Theatre, 3540 Toulouse Street, New Orleans, LA.

Our partner on this new project is The Rusty Nail, 1100 Constance Street, New Orleans, LA. Tucked away on the edge of the Warehouse District, The Rusty Nail can be a bit hard to find.

It works to design, reconstruct and operate live performance venues throughout North America, with a long history of success. Currently, the company is overseeing the restoration of the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, LA, and the former Loew's Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY.

In MOLD, John Biguenet, Louisiana Writer of the Year 2012, completes his award-winning Rising Water Trilogy including RISING WATER and SHOTGUN about the flooding of New Orleans and its aftermath. Set the summer after the levee collapse MOLD depicts a young husband forced to choose between his wife and the city he loves. The production runs between tonight, March 20 and April 14.

(3/5/2013) - This past Saturday, producer Mark Cortale brought to the Lupin Theater stage a concert featuring the Tony Award winning, triple threat, ABC Family Bunheads actress Sutton Foster with Broadway pianist and Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky. The concert was the second in the Broadway series to be held at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts this Spring.
