I am actually not surprised over that. He was hardly ever used and got little to no air time. Everyone was thrilled for him when the first Windemere sketch took off.
DId Channing Tatum really dance/strip in EVERY skit???
This goes to show what a lack of talent he really is and just another pretty face. How could he sit there on the table reads and allow for these writers to write him in as a half naked dancer/stripper in EVERY skit??
The DOWNTON ABBEY and Lana Del Ray bits were great, the rest was kind of pitiful. It was sad to see Paul Brittain left out of the opening credits. Poor guy. At this point, practically all the other cast members might as well be called Not-Wiig/Armisen/Hader...why single him out?
Channing Tatum needs to send a nice thank you note to whatever powerful queen he f**ked to get his A-list status and scuttle off to be the 2nd banana eye candy in some crime show on CBS, already. Oh, and take Sam Worthington with him.
Channing took his shirt off in the monologue, the Cee Lo skit and the very end. I don't see it any different than the boob jokes they'd do if Dolly Parton was hosting.
Yeah, I was just about to say that he didn't take his clothes off nearly as much as people were complaining.
Seriously, I don't get the hate. I had pretty much no opinion on him before the show (and was expecting a dud, quite honestly) but I thought he was funny.
The Quirky girl show was pretty funny. I can see that recurring - especially if ZD was fine with it. She did a pretty good MK impression. Wiig as Bjork. HA!
They just faded out with a photo from a skit they did when Whitney Houston was the guest host back in the '90s (or '00s?). It was a very nice inclusion and done in a way as to not detract from the hilarity of tonight's show. Well done, Lorne et al.
I thought that was one of the best episodes of the season. The French dancers, the quirky show, the Piers Morgan skit, and especially Weekend Update with Nic Cage hit. I think the Nicolas Cage thing was the hardest I've laughed at SNL all season.
Very strong episode - hope it continues next week!
An excellent episode! Nice to see Taran Killim getting more play. The quirky girl bit was brilliant.
But could somebody explain Carmen to me? She's obviously not without talent, but is the toothy, Up With People-ish, white-bread affectedness some sort of ironic hipster thing I'm too old to understand? Was I the only one watching having flashbacks of the Osmonds?
Weird copywright thing: I was rewatching the Quirky Girl Show on Hulu, and when she said "Now we're going to make our eyes real big while Mamma Cass sings", the music that played on the Hulu clip was NOT Mama Cass.
