Southern Rep Joins Blue Star Theatres Initiative

Continuing its longstanding commitment to supporting the United States Armed Forces and their families, Southern Rep is proud to announce its participation in the BLUE STAR THEATRES initiative.

As a Blue Star Theatres participant, Southern Rep will be offering 20% discounts to all military personnel and their families, as well as veterans, for all of its Mainstage Season and Lagniappe Season shows.

Blue Star Theatres is a partnership among Theatre Communications Group (TCG) with leadership support provided by the MetLife Foundation through Blue Star Families. The initiative recognizes the profound contributions of service families and seeks to build stronger connections between theatres, military families and their communities.

To date, 90 theaters have signed on including The Wilma Theater in Philadelphia, the Burning Coal Theatre Company in North Carolina, and The William Inge Center for the Arts in Kansas, among others.

Southern Rep Theatre enters its 27th season as the region's premiere professional theatre, producing bold world and regional premieres under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director, Aimée Hayes. Along with producing new work, the company's Mainstage Season also regularly includes the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and classic plays.

This Season, Southern Rep is producing 33 VARIATIONS, PRIDE & PREJUDICE, the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of THE TOTALITARIANS, and THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA as well as exciting Lagniappe programs like DEBAUCHERY!, 6X6 and 3X3 Playlabs and Pints & Plays.

Southern Rep is also working to keep theatre as accessible as possible. In addition to offering the Blue Star Theatres discount to military families, Southern Rep provides senior discounts, free student matinees, $10 student rush tickets, discounts for theatre professionals, and a "pay what you can" night to keep its productions affordable for New Olreanians of every income level.
