Jefferson Performing Arts Society Announces URINETOWN and LITTLE MERMAID JR This Summer

The Jefferson Performing Arts Society will present the July sessions of it's Summer Youth Musical Theatre Intensives on the East and West banks at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie and the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre.

A new cast of kids in 3rd-7th grades will present a new production of DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID, JR. July 27, 28 at 2:30 and 7:30PM and July 29 at 2PM at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre (177 Sala Ave.). Scott Sauber directs with choreography by Julieanne Natal, musical direction by Alan Payne and production design by Edward R. Cox.

A new cast of teens in grades 8-12 will star in the Broadway hit URINETOWN, The Musical at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center (EJHS Auditorium, 400 Phlox St., Metairie) August 3, 4 at 7:30PM and August 5 at 2PM. Jason Kirkpatrick directs, with choreography by Kaitlyn Allison and musical direction by Louise LaBruyere.

Tickets for both productions are $10 for Kids (12 and under), $12 for Students (with ID)/Seniors(65+)/Military, and $15 for Adults. For tickets visit CLICK HERE or call 504-885-2000. Summer Youth productions are not included in season ticket packages.

This summer over 200 kids and teens will participate in the JPAS Summer Youth Musical Theatre Intensive. Kids and teens spend three weeks rehearsing and learning what it takes to put on a full-musical at the JPAS Youth Musical Theatre Intensive. Their work culminates in these performances for the public.
